Artist Statement

Abstract landscape (new expressionism)

I try to interact with eastern and western culture, with my own interpretation of landscape, rhythm, and imagery.  Using my techniques, knowledge and design as a foundation.

I source inspiration from my surroundings and translate them into my own pieces.  I always take pictures, something that sparks inspiration, and use them when I create art.

I try to express the best I can, using my background experience, to make bold, bright, and beautiful art.

I want my paintings to be vibrant, exciting, and narrative; but in a gentle manner.

My intention is for everyone to get an enlightened lifted spirit through my art

I rely on my instinct, my deepest emotions, and thoughts.

Painting sets me free.

When I paint, I get to completely be myself.

Pain therapy, relaxing, never boring

Creating art is the most relaxing activity, and it gives me self-confidence.

As if cold fresh water in the desert.

Art should be based on unique personal experience.

I am always thinking, creating new motives through my art instinct even if I don’t paint physically.

My works consist of figurative paintings, drawings, ceramics, and abstract paintings.

I paint with water colour, acrylic, oil paint, and Indian ink, on rice paper or directly on stretched canvas.

It has developed through over fifty years.

I play with colours, lines, textures and geometric compositions.

My favorite subject is landscapes in open fields these days.
